 The Australian government has announced that it would bring forward the full amount of the AUD 500m Renewable Energy Fund for investment in the next 18 months, instead of five years as originally envisaged. It has also released its white paper on the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme, committing to a minimum 5% cut in emissions levels by 2020, with an emissions trading scheme to kick off in July 2010.
